This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal data when you use the TRCN Pass website at trcnpass.ng (the “Website”).

TRCN Pass is operated by Guardas de Productos, S.L. (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in Spain. We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

You don’t need to give us any personal information to read the Website.

1. Data We Collect

• Analytics data — we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Website. This may include pages viewed, referral source, device and browser information, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Google Analytics only runs after you’ve given consent; see “Cookies and Tracking” below.
• Information you send us — if you email Email us, we receive your email address and whatever personal information you choose to include in your message.
• Technical data from your visit — when your browser loads the Website, our hosting provider (Vercel) receives standard technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, and the page requested, which it needs in order to deliver the site and keep it secure. Vercel receives this whether or not you accept analytics cookies.
• Your cookie choice — a small first-party cookie in your browser remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies; see “Cookies and Tracking” below.

2. How and Why We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Understand how visitors use TRCN Pass, so we can improve the Website (analytics, only with your consent)
• Respond to emails and support enquiries
• Operate, secure and maintain the Website

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use analytics data for advertising.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We only process personal data where we have a valid reason to do so. Depending on the type of processing, we rely on:

• Consent — for Google Analytics and any other non-essential cookies. You can withdraw your consent at any time using “Manage cookies” in the footer, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before you withdrew it.
• Legitimate interests — for handling the emails you send us, and for operating and securing the Website (including the technical data our hosting provider processes). We rely on this only where our interests are not outweighed by your rights and expectations.
• Strictly necessary cookies — the cookie that remembers your cookie choice is needed for the cookie banner to work, so we set it without asking for your consent.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Analytics data: retained in Google Analytics for 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically.

Emails you send us: kept for as long as we need them to respond to you and handle any follow-up, and afterwards only for as long as we reasonably need them for record-keeping or to meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete them (see “Your Privacy Rights”).

Your cookie choice: stored in your browser for up to 365 days, after which we will ask you again.

Hosting data: handled by Vercel under its own retention practices (see “Third-Party Services”).

5. Cookies and Tracking

The Website uses Google Analytics 4 to measure how it is used — pages viewed, referral source, device and browser information, and approximate location. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers (cookies whose names start _ga) to tell visitors apart and count visits.

You’ll see a cookie banner on your first visit. Google Analytics does not run, and no analytics cookies are set, until you accept. If you decline, it does not run. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using “Manage cookies” in the footer of any page, which reopens the same preferences.

We also set one first-party cookie (trcn-consent) to remember your choice. It lasts up to 365 days and is needed for the banner to work.

We don’t use Google Analytics data for advertising.

7. International Data Transfers

Google (Google Analytics) and Vercel operate global infrastructure, so information about your visit may be processed in countries outside Nigeria and outside the country where you live. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps to make sure it remains protected as required by applicable data protection law.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on the data protection laws that apply to you, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — ask us to delete personal data we hold about you, for example an email you sent us
• Object — object to processing based on our legitimate interests
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data while a request or dispute is resolved
• Data portability — ask for the personal data you gave us in a portable format, where this applies
• Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent (such as analytics cookies), withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal

You also have the right to complain to a data protection regulator. If you are in Nigeria, that is the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). Because we are established in Spain, you can also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).

9. Children’s Privacy

TRCN Pass is a professional exam-preparation resource for teachers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where the changes are material, we’ll make that clear on the Website.
